Just The Facts Please

Unlike some other bidders for the lighthouse, you participate now by helping to win the bid.  It is risky, different, innovative, competitive, but it is yours to help figure out.

You will collaboratively own unique rights and benefits to your lighthouse.  We hope to simply provide access and to share it in such a way you get to experience it for real and virtually on the internet.  You will help us figure out how to install sensors and web cams so we can bring the lighthouse to you – every day.  You will help assist in many other ways too.

We did not receive any lighthouse manuals in the bid package.  And, we did not get to see the inside during the official federal tour.  (We forgot to bring a professional home inspector with us anyway)

So, essentially you will help write the manual to Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse.  You should be the new Keepers.

  • Lighthouses are expensive to run and maintain.  Immediately, we need ~10,000 people to buy now in real time to compete and win; over 3 years we hope to have more than 250,000 members
  • Keeper, Beacon and Candle Membership Deed ($49, $450, $25) start out as a donation.   Each converts to a full membership if all of you help us reach the first goal of 10,000 and we win
  • Candle Light Membership is for kids who are 16 years or less.  These can be converted on the 18th birthday for $25; expires if not converted
  • Beacon Membership is a single large block of 9 Keeper memberships (family estate)
  • Unique Benefits are:
    • You are empowered with a vote to assist in what happens
    • Your “home” spot is a ~5 x 5cm block with a depth of 300cm
    • You own the coordinates of your home block
    • You own the name rights to the block

If Win Lose The Bid

  • For each $49 donation, we need ~$9.80 to operate the site and make things happen right now.
  • Remaining balance is placed into our Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse Escrow account at Bath Saving Institute.  We need an agent.
  • We will send electronic copies of the Keeper Membership Deed so you can print it off.  Except, we won’t onw the lighthouse and you now have a rare collector’s item.
  • The anticipated plan, if we do not win, is we either refund your charge or paypal or mail a check back to you for the refund of the balance (i.e. less the $9.80).

The auction has already started and your ID to follow is MaineGuy – that is us.  It will last no more than 10 days and we need you to join now and come along for the ride.  Spread the word to your friends
